Episode 215: Walking Land’s End to Bath: A UK Trip Report

In this episode of the UK Travel Planning Podcast, Tracy chats with Katherine from Townsville in North Queensland about a very different kind of UK holiday. Katherine and her husband Glen walked 260 miles, around 420 kilometres, from Land’s End to Bath, the first quarter of the famous Land’s End to John O’Groats route, taking in the South West Coast Path through Cornwall and Devon before turning inland towards Somerset. It is a first-hand look at what a long distance walking holiday in the UK is really like.

Katherine booked an itinerary consultation with Tracy and Doug before she left, and she is wonderfully open about how it reshaped her plans, from spending proper time in Tintagel to using local buses to make the longer days more enjoyable.

If you have ever wondered how luggage transfers work, how to pace three weeks on foot, or whether a walking holiday might suit you, Katherine’s story is full of gentle, useful answers.
